Staying Informed

Fayetteville's Recycling Goals

Fayetteville is trying to increase the amount of waste that is recycled in our community!

We hope to increase our diversion rate to 25% by 2015.  To reach this goal, the division hopes to: 1) increase residential participation rates from 56% to 70%, 2) provide recycling to 30% of apartment units, and 3) increase business participation from 6% to 25%.

How YOU can help:

Do you have access to our curbside recycling program, but don't participate?  Start now!  Contact the Solid Waste and Recycling Division by clicking here, and get up to 2 free bins.  Familiarize yourself with what can be recycled and how to recycle curbside.

Do you already recycle?  Recycle more!  Challenge yourself to increase the amount of materials you recycle.  If you already recycle everything you can, encourage your neighbors, friends, and family to recycle more.

Do you live in an apartment?  Contact your apartment manager and let them know there is interest in a recycling program at your complex!  In the meantime, if you don't have recycling at your apartment, bring your recyclables to our 24-Hour Community Recycling Drop-Off at 1420 S. Happy Hollow Road.

Do you own a business in Fayetteville?  Contact us and we will try to accommodate your recycling needs.

Together, we can keep our recyclables out of the landfill, and make our city more sustainable!
