Bulk Pick-Up Program
The City of Fayetteville provides a bulky waste collection to single family residential customers once per year free of charge. This service is to handle items that are too large to fit into the normal trash carts. These are items such as large furniture, all appliances and brush and tree bulk. Please see program listing below for more detail.
BUSINESSES, APARTMENTS, MOBILE HOMES, MULTI UNIT COMPLEXES, NON PROFIT, and INDUSTRIAL ARE EXCLUDED FROM THIS FREE SERVICE.
Additional Services:
Items containing freon will incur a extra cost to dispose of the freon. The cost of freon removal is $30 if collected through curbside service and $27 if brought to our Compost facility at 1708 S. Armstrong Avenue during operating hours of Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8am-3pm.
Drop boxes are available for large quantities of material. We have a 6 yard, 20 yard, 30 yard , and 40 yard box. Please contact our Commercial Sales Representative at (479) 575-8397 or e-mail through the contact option on the left menu bar for pricing and to schedule one of these containers.
The Boston Mountain Solid Waste District also provides a bulky waste program for any resident of the two county area ( Madison, and Washington Counties). To schedule a collection through them please call them directly at 479-846-3005 or 1-888-426-9278. Washington County also accepts bulk materials. Please contact them at 444-1725 for information on their services.

Bulk Collection - Residential Curbside Service
There is a Limit of 5 items in the Free Bulk Service.
Bulk Household
Items include: Mattress, box spring, chair, couch, love seat, microwave, doll house, large children toys, baby crib, hot tub cover, artificial Christmas tree, baby stroller, landscape timbers (6 only and does not include rail road ties), luggage, end table, outdoor lawn furniture, sink or tub (excluding cast iron), desk, wood frames or doors (no glass), wooden swing set, and entertainment center. E-waste such as computers and televisions are not accepted with bulk collections and should be taken to the Washington County Household Hazardous Waste facility located at 2615 Brink Dr. There is a fee for recycling of E-Waste so please call 444-1725 for more information.
Excludes: Building /construction/ remodeling materials, rail road ties, tree stumps, car seats, cast iron tubs and sinks, cardboard boxes full of debris or packing paper, treated lumber, car engines, carpet, trash bags, and any hazardous materials.
Bulk Metal
Include: Washer, dryer, dishwasher, trash compactor, bicycles, exercise equipment, hot water heaters, bed frames, boxspring (without material), car parts, tables, guttering, tillers, fencing (must be rolled and tied), mailboxes and poles (all concrete must be removed), swingsets, BBQ Grill, lawnmower, weedeater, and old metal trash cans (must be empty).
Exclude: All Freon appliances and Parts. There will be a freon recovery charge of $30.00 per unit curbside. This goes for all units that still have or have had the freon compressors removed, no exceptions.
Bulk Brush
Includes: Brush and Tree bulk with a maximum of 12 feet in length and 6 inches in diameter. There is a limit of 3 standard pick-up truck size loads.
Excludes: Sod, sludge, railroad ties, food waste, rock, plastic bags, and dirt.
Note: If you have less than one truck load, please utilize the Yard Waste program.
Rules and Regulations
- Place out no more than 12 hours prior to collection.
- Items must be placed out by 6:00 a.m. on the day of collection.
- Items must be placed within 5-6 feet of the curbside, no alleys or side streets please. We will not collect materials directly from inside your home.
- Do not place directly under powerlines or tree limbs.
- Do not place within 4 feet of any other object or collection materials on the ground.
- Please do not block the Right of way in streets, sidewalks, or in ditch lines.
- Please place material on the ground.
- Only items placed at curbside and scheduled will be removed, we are not responsible for any materials left at curbside not intended for removal.
- We are not allowed to drive on to your property , so please be sure to follow guidelines as above.
- Residents must choose from one of the three service types (Household, Metal or Brush). Categories cannot be mixed.
