Initiated in 2005, this program provides the manpower and equipment needed to construct new trails designated in the Trail Master Plan. The goal of this program is constructing approximately five miles of new trail each year.
This program offers alternative transportation opportunities for citizens and promotes citizen health and safety by providing connectivity to existing trails and developing a new citywide trail system for walkers, joggers, and bicycles. Expenditures from this program are charged to the in-house trail construction project in the Sales Tax Capital Improvement Funds.
This dedicated 9 man crew works to meet the needs and demands of City residents and local visitors to provide the highest quality of trails in the region.
The City of Fayetteville now offers 10 miles of paved trails and has identified 129 miles of trails that will connect parks, neighborhoods and citizens for years to come.
While there is much work left to reach our goal of a city wide network, you will find the current, completed facilities are very relaxing and enjoyable. We invite you to come out and take a walk, jog or bike ride on any or all of these great trails.
Current projects underway include sections of Scull Creek, Lake Fayetteville and Clabber Creek Trails.
