Farm Site

The City of Fayetteville owns a 670-acre Midland Bermuda grass hay operation that adjoins to the Paul R. Noland Wastewater treatment plant. The farm site requires nutrient uptake from previous land applications due to elevated phosphorus in the soil. The nutrient uptake is achieved through effluent discharge mitigation which supports the growth of grass.

The grass is cut, harvested as hay, and then sold to local farmers using a standard procedure for hay sales. This price is primarily affected by market supply/demand and the quality of the product.

For questions concerning public hay sales or any other farm site related questions, contact Biosolids Coordinator Ralph Guthary at (479)444-0717. For all other questions, contact Project Manager Duyen Tran at (479)443-3292 or via e-mail at wwtp@ci.fayetteville.ar.us
