2009 Vendor Workshop & Reverse Trade Show

The City of Fayetteville in partnership with the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce is holding the first ever "Vendor Workshop & Reverse Trade Show" on July 9th. This event is free for any business to attend. The first segment of the vendor workshop will consist of a presentation on how to conduct business with the City of Fayetteville. The second segment, the reverse trade show, will be a chance for vendors to walk around and meet with several divisions within the City and discuss what their purchasing needs may be.

Town Hall Meeting for 2nd Quarter

Communities in Northwest Arkansas have spent millions of dollars to preserve the region’s supply of drinking water as well as other water resources. The primary way to avoid future costs is by taking care of this precious commodity. By educating ourselves, we can help teach others how to best care for our water resources.

The Solid Waste and Recycling Division is announcing that the Transfer Station located at 1560 S. Happy Hollow Road in southeast Fayetteville for disposal of class 1 municipal solid waste will be closed beginning at 12 pm on Friday, June 5th and will reopen approximately on Monday, June 15th at 6 am if reconstruction is complete.

Water and Sewer Bond Rating Increase

Standard and Poor’s rating agency recently completed the underlying rating of the City’s outstanding Water and Sewer System Revenue Bonds. After the review, the ratings on these bonds were increased from an "A" rating to a double "AA" rating and affirmed a stable outlook. The City is in the process of issuing $8,200,000 in Water and Sewer System Revenue Bonds. This issue was also assigned a rating of "AA". Bond ratings traditionally affect the interest rates bid on bonds. Therefore, an increased rating for the new issue will result in lower interest rates demanded by investors which will translate to lower overall interest costs to the City.

Ribbon Cutting for New Traffic Light on Martin Luther King Blvd

The City of Fayetteville will celebrate the newly installed traffic light on Martin Luther King Blvd. and South Garland Ave. with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 11:30 a.m. Friday, May 8, 2009. This intersection is in front of Fayetteville High School (FHS) and near the location of a crosswalk frequently used by FHS students.

Life Source Foodbasket

The LifeSource Foodbasket is a free event open to the public where participants are served a hot meal and recieve a foodbasket. The event begins a 6pm and ends at 8pm. Foodbaskets are distributed on a first come basis.

This month's FoodBasket will be held on May 18 instead of May 25 because of the holiday.
