The City of Fayetteville has screened Compost available again for Fayetteville residents only. Please bring a recent water bill showing Solid Waste charges to prove residency. No commercial businesses, apartments or non residents will be allowed to purchase compost.

Mayor Lioneld Jordan to Hold Town Hall Meeting on March 29, 2010

Mayor Lioneld Jordan will be holding a Mayor’s Town Hall Meeting at Woodland Junior High School on Monday, March 29, from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Everyone is encouraged to come. Woodland Junior High School is located at 1 East Poplar Street.

Each Town Hall Meeting is scheduled in a different ward throughout the year, and this time the City-wide meeting will be held in Ward Two. The Town Hall Meeting is an opportunity to learn more about your local government and ask questions about programs and policies of city government.

City of Fayetteville to sell Compost starting on Tuesday, March 9th

The City of Fayetteville will begin selling Compost on Tuesday, March 9th, 2010 from 8am until 3pm. Residents should enter the Compost site at 1708 S. Armstrong Road in southeast Fayetteville. You must be a Fayetteville resident to purchase compost. Please bring a recent water bill to prove residency and showing Solid Waste charges.

The City of Fayetteville will host two public education and input workshops on streamside protection March 6 & 10.

The City of Fayetteville will host two public education and input workshops on streamside protection on March 6 and March 10. The Nutrient Reduction Plan, completed in April 2009 as part of an agreement with Beaver Water District and the City of Fayetteville, recommends the development and implementation of a streamside protection ordinance. This ordinance is part of a series of recommendations designed to reduce pollution in all the City’s waterways, which will improve the health of the City’s streams and reduce the costs of treating drinking water.

2010 Spring Ward Bulky Waste Clean ups scheduled

The Solid Waste and Recycling Division will sponsor four (4) Ward clean ups for the disposal/recycling of large bulky items during the Spring. All clean ups will occur on a Saturday and will begin at 7 a.m. and end at 2 pm.
